Drone Video

I have a new hobby, drone photography and video. For now, it is just a hobby. Whether or not it becomes more depends on the FAA. With some restrictions, recreational drone flights a permitted. For now, commercial flights basically require a pilots license and an FAA exemption. The FAA is formulating new rules for commercial use. They may release the new rules as early as March.

Depending on what the new requirements are for commercial use I may apply. I am sure that there will be requirements for training and insurance. And, I am sure that there will be a cost involved. That is not a bad thing. In fact, I think that it is a good thing.

Until then, I will practice with the drone, and have a bit of fun in the process. The funny thing is that throughout my many years of experience in the field of photography I never cared much to venture off into video. For some reason I like shooting 4K video from a drone.
